Dagmara Dryl is a soloist of the Polish National Ballet. She graduated from the Roman Turczynowicz Ballet School in Warsaw (2001). While a student, she won the Third Senior Prize at the 11th Polish National Dance Competition in Gdańsk. In 2000 and 2004 she received artistic scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland. She also holds a degree in teaching ballet from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (2008).

 

Straight from ballet school she joined the Ballet of the Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera (now: Polish National Ballet). In 2006 she was promoted to coryphée, and in 2007 to soloist.  She has danced many leading roles in classical ballets: Nikiya, Shade-Soloist 2 and 3 in La Bayadre; Clara and Queen of the Flowers in The Nutcracker; Princess Florine and Fairy of Diamonds in The Sleeping Beauty; Princes Friend in Swan Lake; Fairy Spring and Fairy Autumn in Cinderella. She is also an excellent performer of semiclassical and contemporary choreographies. She has wowed audiences as Isolde in Krzysztof Pastor’s Tristan; Kitty in Alexei Ratmanskys Anna Karenina; Young Woman in Maurice Béjart’s The Rite of Spring; and Contemporary Seraphim in Jacek Przybyłowicz’s Six Wings of Angels. She has danced solos in Jiří Kylián’s bill, Przybyłowicz’s Alpha Kryonia Xe and Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, Pastor’s Kurt Weill and In Light and Shadow, Wesołowski’s The Kisses, Robert Bondara’s Butterflies in the Stomach, and Tyski’s Donna.

 

Since 2008 she has been teaching classical ballet at the Roman Turczynowicz Ballet School.
