Jakub Wittchenis a photographer. He began his career in 2005. In 2008-2012 he co-owned the Master-Art Photo Agency working on commission for big corporate clients (including Stary Browar, Bricomarche, Intermarche, Hilding Polska, Lech Poznań, Makro Cash and Carry Polska, etc.) and many cultural institutions. Today he works as a freelance corporate image photographer.
But first and foremost Wittchen is a photographer of dance and theatre. He also focuses on concert photography – especially jazz music. For many years now, he has been working for Stary Browar Nowy Taniec Art Stations Foundation in Poznań, Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw, Nowy Theatre in Poznań and many other institutions and organisations of cultural background.
Wittchen is an author of photographs for books:Sztuka do odkrycia. Szkice o polskim tańcu [An Art to Discover. Essays on Polish Dance],Między Niebem a Ziemią – Teatr Biuro Podróży [Between Heaven and Earth – Bióro Podróży Theatre],Nowy Taniec Rewolucje Ciała[New Dance – Body Revolutions] and a number of publications in culture magazines (“Teatr”, “Didaskalia”, “Czas kultury”).”
