Katarzyna Rzetelska is a graduate of the Feliks Parnell Secondary Ballet School in Łódź. After graduating, she spent one season working at the Musical Theatre in Łódź, upon which she signed a contract in Japan, where she danced modern jazz and Broadway jazz. After her return she danced in Western European theatres in musical repertoire (among others Cats, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King, Hunchback of Notre Dame: Broadway, Beauty and the Beast). She has honed her performing and teaching skills in the UK in internships and contemporary dance and modern jazz works hops.

 

She was one of the dancers collaborating with William Petit in the project Trans Danse Europe. She took part in workshops of GaGa technique run by teachers from Batsheva Dance Company in Israel. 

 

In 2005 she joined the Polish Dance Theatre. She was a pedagogue of the Open Contemporary Dance Classes at the Polish Dance Theatre. She has performed, among others, in B@ttle Between Carnival And Lent, Carpe Diem, Meetings in two unfulfilled acts, Spring Efatha, FootBall@…, XL. Polish Dance Theatre, Yesterday and Today. Episode III, 1981-84  (chor. Ewa Wycichowska), Minus 2 (chor. Ohad Nahrin), Autumn Nuembir (chor. Jacek Przybyłowicz), Summer Red Sun (chor. Thierry Verger), Wo-man in Tomatoes (chor. Yossi Berg), Desert (chor. Paulina Wycichowska), Planets (idea: Lukas and Tereza Lepold), Public Space (chor. Karol Miękina). In 2013, together with Tomasz Pomersbach, she created (and performed) a choreography for Ukradkiem [Secretly], created for the 6th Polish Dance Theatre Atelier Festival.
