Magdalena Ciechowicz – first soloist of the Polish National Ballet. In 2000 she graduated from the Secondary Ballet School in Warsaw. While at school she won first prize in the National Dance Competition in Gdańsk (in the junior category, 1997), then she was the finalist of the Competition in the senior category (1999). She won several scholarships of the Polish Children’s Fund and a scholarship of the Minister of Culture. In 1999 she went for a summer scholarship to the Marika Besobrasova Académie de Dance Classique in Monte Carlo and one year later she danced for Ballet des Jeunes d’Europe. In 2000 she joined the ballet company of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. In the same season she was shortlisted for the International Ballet Competition in Helsinki.
She danced such parts as: Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Four Swans in Swan Lake and Queen of the Flowers in The Nutcracker. After two years she returned to France at the invitation of Europa Danse Company where she worked with Monique Loudières, Susan Hendl, Robert Strajner and Tony Fabré. She preformed there in the following choreographies: George Balanchine:Allegro Brillante, Nacho Duato:Na Floresta, Jiři Kylian:Songs of a Wayfarer and Ricard Franco –Nunca Mais, at Châtelet Theatre in Paris and others. In 2003 she participated in a tour of the Alexander Hoffmann European Youth Ballet, next she joined Compaña Nacional de Danza Nacho Duato in Madrid. She performed with the group in France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Turkey, USA and Hungary. In 2004 she came back to the Teatr Wielki as a soloist and since 2010 as a first soloist.
