Maksim Woitiul the first soloist in the Polish National Ballet. Born in 1978 in Minsk, Belarus. In 1996, he graduated from the Minsk State Ballet School. In the same year, he was engaged as a soloist in the Minsk Grand Theatre, where he debuted as Blue Bird in Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty. In 1998, he became a soloist for the Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera in Warsaw, and in 2000 he was promoted to be the first soloist. In the season 2001/2002, he danced in Canada National Ballet in Toronto, and in the subsequent season, he went back to Warsaw. He performed as a guest artist in Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Latvia, Netherlands, Switzerland, Taiwan and the USA.
His most important roles in the Grand Theatre include: Youth in The Miraculous Mandarin, Brother, Toy Soldier, Nutcracker in The Nutcracker, Prince Siegfried & Benno (Pas de trois) in Swan Lake, Young in Harnasie, Prince Désiré & Prince Fleur de Pois in The Sleeping Beauty, Poet in Fortepiannissimo, Poet in Les Sylphides, Romeo, Benvolio, Mercurio in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet in Miss Julie, Young in A sort of, John in Zorba the Greek, Aramis and D’Artagnan in Three Musketeers, Tchaikovsky’s Alter Ego, Prince and Young in ballet Tchaikovsky, Sergei in Once in a Lifetime, Krassus in Spartacus, Colas in La Fille mal gardée, Solor and Gold Idol in Le Bayadere, Soloist in Serenate and Musagete, Lensky in Oniegin, Wronsky in Anna Karenina, Tristan in Tristan, Leading Soloist in The Kisses, First Aria in In Light and Shadow, Prayer and Final Solo in Kurt Weill, Prince and Jester in Cinderella, Our-Strong Man in And The Rain Will Pass…, and The Chosen in Béjart’s The Rite of Spring. He also danced solo parts in No More Play and Jiří Kyliáns Petite Mort, Third Symphony Song of the Night and Butterflies in Stomach.
In 2001, he was awarded a Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis.
