Sandra Szatan is a dancer and dance instructor. She began her dance education at the Cracow Ballet School, and went on to study at the Cracow Dance Conservatory. In 2011 she graduated from the Roman Turczynowicz State Ballet School in Warsaw, upon which she spent the third year of her studies at the International School of Contemporary Dance IWANSON in Munich. She has participated in numerous dance workshops organised in Bytom, Poznan, Warsaw, Koszęcin and Paris.
She gained her first dance experience as a student of the Cracow Ballet School, performing in Denmark and Finland during a tour of the piece Gala Wiedeńska [Vienese Gala]. Later, having obtained her dance diploma, she participated in several independent projects, such as Mikhail Zubkovs Listy George Sand [Letters of George Sand] and Kinga Szablowskas Utkane z marzeń [Woven of dreams] and Feelings. While studying at the IWANSON school, she worked with such choreographers as Camilla Ekelöf, Pia Fossdal, Johannes Härtl, Minka Marie Heiß, Alessandro Pereira and Katja Wachter, and took part in work experience week trainings by the Forsythe Company in Frankfurt. Towards the end of 2013, she joined the Groteska Theatre in Cracow, where she danced to Caroline Finn-Fishers choreography in Metamorphoses (premiere: June 2014) and participated in master classes with Ole Martin Meland, dancer of the Carte Blanche Company (her choreographic etude, created in the course of the coaching, was presented in Cracow and Bergen). She has danced in Karol Miękinas Homo religiosus.
Szatan joined the Polish Dance Theatre in 2015, and has since performed in Minus 2 (choreographed by Ohad Naharin), Desert (choreographed by Paulina Wycichowska), Hello, Stranger! (choreographed by Paweł Malicki), Open Field (choreographed by Nadar Rosano) Forty (choreographed by Jo Strmgren), Perception (choreographed by Urszula Bernat- Jałocha) and LAMENT.
