Taras Szczerban – a soloist of the Grand Theatre in Poznań. He graduated from the Choreographic School for Children and Vocational School of Culture (faculty of choreography) in Kharkov, Ukraine. After graduating from ballet school, he was engaged by the Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kharkov, where after three years he was promoted to ballet soloist. With the group he performed at numerous European theatre (including Spain, Russia and Ukraine). From 1999 he worked with the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Odessa. After two years he was engaged by the Grand Theatre in Poznań. In 2007 he was promoted to ballet soloist. His most important parts in Poznań include: Master of Ceremonies and Rothbart in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Matador in Minkus’ Don Quixote, Torreador in Bizet-Shchedrin’s Carmen-Suite, Ghost in Moniuszko’s The Count of Monte Christo, Harnaś in Szymanowski’s Harnasie, Young Twardowski in Różycki’s PanTwardowski, Alpheus in Szymanowski’s Myths, Paris in Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, King in Szymanowski’s Mandragora.
