Wojciech Kaproń – dancer and teacher. He graduated in culture management and promotion (theatre) from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, 2002) and in culture promotion at the Institute of Pedagogy, Faculty of Philosophy, Jagiellonian University in Cracow. In 1988–1995 he was a dancer of the Ballroom Dance Club “Lider” in Lublin, then – of the Ballroom Dance Club “Zamek” in Lublin (to 1997). A participant and finalist of many national and international ballroom dance competitions. Since 1998 he has regularly participated in workshops of contemporary dance and various physical techniques (Poland), i.e. releasing, contact improvisation, body conditioning, BMC, improvisation and others.

In 1997–2002 Kaproń was a dancer and assistant choreographer of the Contemporary Dance Group at the Lublin University of Technology (GTWPL) managed by Hanna Strzemiecka. Since 2001 he has been a dancer of the Lublin Dance Theatre. He performed in Traktat optyczny (choreography by Hanna Strzemiecka, 2001), Akrobaci, kwiaty i księżyc pomiędzy (choreography by Hanna Strzemiecka, 2002), a solo Bellissimo (choreography by Ryszard Kalinowski, 2003), plepleJAdy (choreography by Hanna Strzemiecka, 2004), Snooker (2005), I znów, i jeszcze raz (choreography by Ryszard Kalinowski, 2006), 48/4 (choreography by Ryszard Kalinowski, 2007), NN. Wacławowi Niżyńskiemu (choreography by Ryszard Kalinowski, 2008). In 2008 he created, as part of a group, his first original solo Kosmos which was presented at the Polish Dance Platform 2010.

In 2006 he had his guest performance in Portraits of Cie Stanislaw Wisniewski from France and in Just. Po prostu of W& M Physical Theatre from Canada. In 2008–2009 he collaborated with the Lublin Theatre Therapy Foundadtion (FTL), among other in a theatre happening Trzynastego. Nawet w grudniu jest wiosna. In 2010 he collaborated with Andersen Theatre, playing the character of the Baron de Winter in Three Musketeers. Since 2003 he is a co-organizer and teacher of the Open Dance and Conditioning Workshops of the Centre for Culture in Lublin.

Currently Kaproń collaborates in organizing artistic and teaching initiatives of the Lublin Dance Theatre, i.e. International Dance Theatre Festival (MSTT) and Contemporary Dance Forum, International Dance Day and National Contemporary Dance Workshops.

He has participated in many festivals in Poland and abroad, among others the USA, France, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain and Finland. In 2005 he was awarded the Theatre Award of the Mayor of the City of Lublin for his artistic and cultural work for the city.
