On Saturday 24 September 2016 at 7.30 pm, Pink Mama Theatre is staging at Grosse Halle Bern a premiere of its new performance entitled Olympic Games, directed by Sławek Bendrat and Dominik Krawiecki. The show will next be performed on 25, 29 and 30 September at 7.30 pm. The partner of this undertaking is ROZBARK Dance Theatre from Bytom and this is where the Polish premiere will take place in November.
About the performace:
The Dance Theater Ensemble portrays a competition developing in both our outside and inner lives. Two actors and five dancers depict a world catapulting towards war; the eerie state of calm before the storm. An unavoidable tension seems to be kindling and no-one can predict when and to what extent it will inflame. Two cynical clowns, who represent a mixture of a dictator, fraud, circus director and a coach play a dangerous game with some overtly ambitious athletes. The competition amongst a swimmer, wrestler, gymnast and others exposes their fragile construction an reveals their personal stories. Eventually, the event degenerates and, therefore, dismantles the illusion of the Olympic Games. Pink Mama compares the worlds of sport, circus and performing art and questions to what extent they have already fused into one being.
