Taking place on 27-30 August 2014, internationale tanzmesse nrw invites dance professionals and enthusiasts from all around the globe to come and meet in Düsseldorf, Germany. Apart from a few hundred international exhibitors, the event is going to welcome latest dance performances and films. It is the second time that the Institute of Music and Dance is participating in tanzmesse nrw, this year represented by its deputy director, Joanna Szymajda and Marta Michalak. Also participating is Poland?s Zawirowania Dance Theatre.

 

On 29 August at 10:15-11:00 am the  Institute of Music and Dance, in cooperation with  the Polish Institute in Düsseldorf and the internationale tanzmesse, is going to present the conceptual preview of a site-specific project?installation entitled Body Opera set to Wojciech Blecharz music. The project?s production is going to start in 2016, and the showcase in Düsseldorf aims to find partners for the undertaking. In attendance at the presentation will be Dawid Lorenc.

 

 

About the installation:

 

There is no singer in Body Opera.

Our soloist is a dancer.

There is no libretto in Body Opera.

Our story is dancer’s physicality and the map of his body.

No arias. There is motion, touch, friction and breath.

The sound of the Body.
