7 September will see the launch of Archiwum ciała [Archive of the Body], a performance art programme of the ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznań. First on the agenda (6 pm) is the panel discussion “Talking to the Ancestors: remixes and the Spring Festival”, exploring the notion of “archaeology of dance” in Polish stage practice and Polish context. For a few years now, komuna//warszawa has been running a programme of remixing canonical works, inviting the participation of both directors and choreographers. Chaired by the programme’s curator, Anna Królica, the discussion will feature Magda Grudzińska, Iwona Pasińska Jadwiga Majewska and Karolina Wycisk.

Following the discussion, at 8 pm, the Zamek Culture Centre will host Mikołaj Mikołajczyk’s Projekt: Tomaszewski [Project: Tomaszewski], in which the artist “recalls the beginnings of his work on stage, his great fascination with Henryk Tomaszewski, mime, director and founder of the Wrocław Pantomime Theatre. Mikołajczyk aims not to excavate Tomaszewski’s choreographies but rather to recall the image of Tomaszewski which Mikołajczyk has annexed and incorporated into his memory”.

On 8 September Stary Browar will stage two other remixes produced by komuna//warszawa: Iza Szostak’s Merce Cuningham: RE//MIX and Ramona Nagabczyńska’s Re:akumulacja [Re: accumulation] remixing the work of Trisha Brown.

The programme’s subsequent events will follow on 21 September, 11 & 30 October, and 7 December, ranging from performances to discussion panels.
