On Tuesday, 8 November (7 pm), the Old Brewery New Dance will host a presentation of Mirjam Sögner?s LARA (Studio Słodownia +3, ul. Półwiejska 42), which was officially selected for Aerowaves Twenty 2016. LARA takes the pixelated movement patterns of early computer game characters as a starting point to explore digitally altered physicality. Mirjam Sögner translates the unnatural qualities and glitchy image errors of digital avatars back onto her own body, creating an uncanny hybrid. Imitating the imitation, she creates a physical body seemingly trapped in the digital realm. As our digital and physical realities grow together, this solo offers a bodily response to our changing experience of the world.

On Thursday, 10 November (8 pm), LARA will be presented in Lublin as part of the International Dance Theatres Festival (Centre for Culture in Lublin, MainPerformance Room). The show will be presented as a double bill with another piece selected for this year?s Aerowaves Twenty, Christos Papadopoulos?s Elvedon (Leon & the Wolf).
