On Friday, 22 March at 8 pm the Sopot Dance Theatre is presenting the premiere of its latest show Traktat o estetyce. Technika defektów i skaz [Treatise of Aesthetics: A Technique of Defects and Flaws] by Jacek Krawczyk, to be shown at Teatr na Plaży in Sopot (al. Mamuszki 2). The starting point for the show was the artistic legacy of the duo of Merce Cunningham and John Cage: pure movement, which in itself is an interesting artistic material, lack of theatricality, accidentality both at the stage of conception and performance, coupled with perfection and attention to detail, and equipollence of the chorographical, musical and visual aspect…
The artists of Traktat o Estetyce. Techniki defektów i skaz[Treatise of Aesthetics: A technique of defects and flaws] draw on the achievements of 20th century’s great artists, purposefully pushing the limits and playing with the idea to find out if there is still room on the Polish stage for dance.
