On Thursday, 23 May (7 pm) Warsaw’s Centre for Contemporary Art – Ujazdowski Castle (Laboratory Building) will host the Warsaw premiere of Izabela Chlewińska’a “Tralfamadore”, a solo multimedia show exploring the subject of death. Intimate and tragic comic at the same time, the work draws on the literary reference to Kurt Vonnegut’s fantasy planet of Tralfamadore. It is also a kind of philosophical discourse taking place on stage, whose leading motif is Seneca’s urging to “think on death to not fear it”. The particular application of modern multimedia (during the show graphics and text are created), precise & cool stage design, old-fashioned costume, musical loops, and finally a two-word monologue conjure up a specific atmosphere. Izabela Chlewińska, known for many artistic alliances (including with Teatr Alter, Dada von Bzdülöw, Ramona Nagabczyńska), is debuting at Warsaw Dance Stage. The piece was produced in association with Israeli choreographer Arkadi Zaides during a residence at Klub Żak in Gdańsk.
