The Art and Present Time Foundation together with the Centre for Contemporary Art ? Ujazdowski Castle are pleased to invite everyone interested to the presentation of Happiness by the contemporary dance company Club Guy & Roni of Groningen accompanied by the percussion ensemble Slagwerk Den Haag (3 November, 7 pm). The presentation is organised as part of the 23rd International Meeting of Live Arts CROSSROADS. The show will be presented at the Nowy Theatre (ul. Madalińskiego 10/16), making it the first ever performance by Club Guy & Roni, led by choreographers Guy Weizman and Roni Haver.

Happiness is the company?s latest piece. In their characteristically dynamic way and with a grain of salt they portray characters who are far from ideal in their search for happiness. Does one have to be lucky to experience true Happiness?, ask the authors of the piece. An explosive combination of absurd comedy about a dysfunctional family and a pastiche of reality TV with dynamic dance to expressive live music. Inspired, among others, by Todd Solondz?s film Happiness, the performance was created by the acclaimed Holland-based Israeli choreographers Guy Weizman and Roni Haver, and composers Frank Wienk (Binkbeats, Slagwerk Den Haag) and Niels Broos (Kyteman Orchestra).

Following the presentation, the artist will meet with the audience at the theatre foyer.

The day before the show, choreographer Guy Weizman will give a lecture on Guy & Roni?s oeuvre (2 November 2016, 6 pm) at the Centre for Contemporary Art ? Ujazdowski Castle (Kino.LAB). The lecture will be illustrated by screenings of the company?s performances.
