On Saturday and Sunday, 15 and 16 June (7 pm) the Centre of Cultural Initiatives [Centrum Inicjatyw Kulturalnych] in Wrocław (ul. Tęczowa 79/81) is presenting the Polish premiere of Ariel czyli Swinger’s Planets [Ariel, or Swinger’s Planets] by Swiss-based Pink Mama Theatre. The event is named Różowa Inwazja [Pink Invasion].
About the performance:
Four planets (persons) revolving around one another and dependant on one another. Each is hiding its real feelings and reserves itself the right to impose its moral values on the others. This conservative society is here symbolised by a royal family. Arriving at the court as a breath of freedom, Ariel reminds each of the characters something about themselves that they have forgotten and forces them to ditch their masks and reveal their true faces. The performers’ nudity becomes their specific costume, an epitome of the longing for purity, candour and beauty. The performance has the convention of dance theatre, with movement, image, word and music contributing to the final effect in equal measure.
