Ramona Nagabczyńska – born in 1984, half-Polish, half-Canadian. A dancer and choreographer. She graduated from the Ballet School in Warsaw; then, she studied contemporary dance at Hochschule Fur Musik Und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt / Main and The Place in London. As a dancer, she worked with numerous Polish and foreign artists: Polish Dance Theatre (Poznań), Zawirowania Dance Theatre (Warsaw), Marysia Stokłosa, Good Girl Killer group (Gdańsk), Darkin Ensemble (UK), Tom Dale Company (UK) and Codigo Dance Project (Spain). Currently she collaborates with David Wampach from France and Clod Ensemble, a visual theatre from London, whose productions are supported by famous Sadler’s Wells. She is also a member of U/LOI. She has works and travels between Warsaw, London and Kazakhstan.
At the same time she created her individual choreographies. In 2009 she produced a solo performance Man’s Best Friend – in Solo Project, a resident ice programme in Stary Poznań and in 2010 – an interdisciplinary project Turao/Dziw co-produced by Body/Mind Foundation.
In 2011 she won (together with Aleksander Baczyński-Jenkins) a joint competition of komuna/warszawa and the Institute of Music and Dance for remix of recognized choreography. At re//mix 2012 she works on a piece inspired by the works of Trisha Brown (Accumulation and Accumulation with Talking Plus Water Motor).
In Spring 2012 Nagabczyńska’s latest premiere New(Dis)Order will take place at the Warsaw Dance Stage 2012. The piece was selected as one of the few from more than 40 applications. The performance will feature Izabela Chlewińska, Magdalena Jędra, Mariusz Raczyński, Katarzyna Kizior.
